This character is very young. He is also very strong and (in my opinion) very useful. Gau's mother died while giving birth to him. His father disowned him when he was born because he thought he looked like a beast. Gau was raised with all sorts of animals and monsters and travelled with them as well. He meets Cyan and Sabin on the velt. Gau gives them a very useful item which allows them to breath under water. He is asked to join the returners to fight against the Empire. Although Gau has been around animals and monsters all his life he is still civilized. He is caring and friendly. Gua's abilities include "leap and rage". When he "leaps" on an animal or monster he quickly learns the creature's spells and attacks. When he "rages" he performs the abilities he learned from leaps.
